Highlights from our Fourth of July Festivities at S.L. Country Club

We wanted to take a moment to share a recap of the remarkable patriotic ceremony we held to honor our flag and celebrate our nation's independence.
On the glorious sunny morning of July 4th, more than 200 enthusiastic attendees gathered inside the clubhouse at Spanish Lakes Country Club to participate in our annual Fourth of July ceremony. The event was a filled with pride, unity, and a deep sense of patriotism.
Inspiring speeches were given, highlighting the significance of this historic day and of the importance of the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. Veterans of all branches of our armed forces were asked, in turn, to stand and be recognized, to great applause. A color guard also presented the flags of each force.

Filled with reverence and gratitude for our country, the attendees sang along to patriotic songs, such as Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A. (I'm Proud To Be An American)" and of course, our national anthem.
In the ceremony, our M.C. shared the history of our flags and what they represent, including a fascinating history of the Gasden Flag and its rattlesnake symbolism and words "Don't Tread on Me." The flag, a favorite of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin, pre-dates our current national flag and was the main flag used during the revolutionary war.
They say there's no such thing as a free lunch. Not so! All were served the classic American fare of hot dogs, chips and soda after the ceremony. Many stayed afterward to enjoy laughs, stories and camaraderie. What a privilege it is to live in this great country!
We are grateful to everyone who attended the ceremony and contributed to its success. Your presence and participation helped create an atmosphere of unity and patriotism that made this Fourth of July truly memorable.
We would also like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the volunteers and organizers. Your commitment and passion are commendable.
